Only non-piercing cull tags allowed

BAA will be enforcing a new rule in 2020 – no “piercing” cull tags will be allowed to be used in BAA events. Only clip-style mechanisms are permitted for attaching the cull tag to your fish.

There are retrofit kits available for most culling systems now. Please see your local tackle retailers!

If we see evidence that your fish have fresh holes from culling tags, you will be assessed a penalty at the discretion of the BAA Executive.

2020 Open Meeting and Membership Information

There is a OPEN meeting scheduled for Sunday, February 23rd, 2020, from 6 until 8pm, at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 593 in Bells Corners. (4026 Old Richmond Road, Nepean, ON).

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

* Anyone interested in discussing the BAA Charity tournament (first portion of meeting only)

* Returning BAA members from 2019

* New members wishing to join BAA in 2020

Returning members be advised: We will be accepting NEW members at the end of this meeting. As a result, if you are not paid in full by the adjournment of this meeting, you are at risk of forfeiting your spot in BAA to a new team. If you are unable to make the meeting, you may pay early by contacting eric@bassanglersassociation.ca and making arrangements that way. Remember, non-payment by the meeting date is risking your spot with the Club.

Teams wishing to join for 2020, please Contact Us indicating as such. We will work our way down the list at the meeting, so expressing your interest now is highly advisable. You will also want to attend the meeting so you can pay your entry fees if/when a spot opens up for you. If you cannot attend the meeting, contact us through the above form and we can arrange pre-payment for your team, should a spot open up for you.

Entry fees have been increased slightly to $550 per team. We can accept CASH, or Interac E-Transfer (to: eric@bassanglersassociation.ca). We have increased some payouts, and some parking/launch is now included in your fees. Please see here: https://www.bassanglersassociation.ca/2020-fees-payouts-changed

The meeting agenda will be as follows:

  1. Charity Event Discussion
    1. We would like to solicit feedback and have an engaging conversation about what we can do to grow this event bigger! You do NOT need to be a BAA member to attend this portion of the meeting.
  2. Adjournment of Charity Event Discussion
  3. Begin BAA Annual Meeting: Opening announcements
  4. Volunteer positions
  5. Budget
  6. Open discussion for:
    1. Specific events (logistics, launch/parking procedures, etc.)
    2. The Club as a whole
  7. Registrations and payments, member socializing, meet-and-greet
  8. Adjournment of BAA Annual Meeting
  9. New Team Registration

2020 Fees & Payouts Changed

New for BAA in 2020 is a modified fee structure.

The annual team entry fees have increased from $500 to $550, but this now includes parking at Newboro, and parking & launch at Muskrat, Ottawa River, and Dog/Cranberry! Anglers will be responsible for their own parking at White Lake and Big Rideau. Anglers will also be responsible for the “honest John” $3 fee for launch at Newboro.

In addition, the Big Fish Payouts have each been increased, so the biggest fish each day now pays $300 (up from $250), and the second biggest fish now pays $200 (up from $150). This applies to all 8 days of Club events! The other payouts remain unchanged. All payouts can be found here: https://www.bassanglersassociation.ca/the-rules/payouts/
