Latest update: BAA 2020 will proceed for the season!… with some changes to facilitate physical distancing, including ‘no spectators’, two flights for launch/blast-off, masks and distancing where necessary, no end-of-day gathering, and limited transfer of cash (using e-transfers where possible). See “The Rules” for details.
Original Update: BAA intends to operate its 2020 season, provided federal, provincial, and municipal guidelines all permit it to happen. As the situation regarding Ontario’s re-opening is fluid and unpredictable, we will be monitoring this closely and communicating with the registered teams if things change from the planned season.
Some options we are keeping open, if necessary, are:
- Cancelling one or two events, and distributing payouts back into the other club events and/or Classic
- Rearranging venues, but not dates – we intend to still fish every-other-weekend as already scheduled, but might have to move locations around on that schedule
Also, depending on current guidelines at the time of any given event, BAA may enforce a “no spectator” rule at weigh-ins, physical distancing practices at launch and weigh-in sites, and other measures as we deem appropriate.
As of now, we have no plans to cancel the Charity event in late-September, but we will make further announcements about that event later in the season.
Stay tuned, and let’s get ready to fish!
